Description
The Educational Grant Programme for the Citizens of the Member Countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation” and “The Educational Grant Programme for the Citizens of the Member Countries of the Non-Aligned Movement” were permitted by the orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 6, 2017 and on January 10, 2018, respectively. The Educational Grant (hereafter “scholarship”) Programmes offer an opportunity for nominated applicants on yearly basis to study in the top universities of Azerbaijan at the introductory courses, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, general medicine/residency programmes.
Eligibilities
- Citizens of the OIC and the NAM and member countries
- For undergraduate and general medicine programmes – citizens younger than 25
- For graduate and residency programmes – citizens younger than 30
- For doctoral programmes – citizens younger than 40
- The English proficiency certificate is not mandatory, but preferable
Benefits
The contract on an educational grant is to be signed between a grant awarded student and relevant university. As per the signed agreement, a student has a right to:
- be exempted from tuition charges of the admitted educational institution;
- be clarified with the education procedure and inner guidelines of the educational institution;
- be provided with visa, registration, conveyance, health expenditures (insurance) and monthly stipend (for accommodation, meals, transportation, books, and utility costs) for a period of no more than 10 months of each educational year, and in accord with the conditions of the agreement;
- be provided with the official certification on study after finishing education program fruitfully;
- ask for an extension of educational grant for a maximum period of 1 semester, in a case of experiencing accidental emergency situation and etc.

Application Process
In order to register for university, the applicant must do the following things:
- Submit an application letter addressed to the director of particular educational institution demonstrating the specialty, language of study;
- Diploma and transcripts from prior high school or university studies (translated to the required languages and notarized copies);
- International passport;
- Health certificate (reference confirming that the person is not carrier of a virus of any disease included AIDS, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C);
- 6 photos (3*4 sized);
- Language Certificate (if available);
- Copies of other certificates and diplomas.
Selection procedures and results
The selection process will cover two stages:
- Review of the relevant documents
- Interviews (online/Skype)
- The candidates will be informed about the results by July 2021
Note: Universities will get in touch with the shortlisted applicants for institutional admission procedures.

- be officially nominated by respective state entities of their
country (Ministries, Embassies, etc.) to the Embassies or to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan
