The Erasmus+ program by European Union is a funding scheme to support activities in the fields of Sport, Training, Youth and Education. It comprises of three so-called “Key Actions” along with two extra actions. They are administered partially at the national level by National Agencies and partially European standard by the EACEA. The responsibility lies greatly on European Commission for Erasmus+ guidelines and manages the overall program operation.
The MA in Advanced Development in Social Work (ADVANCES) is considered to give outstanding levels of practice skills to social workers, so that they can positively respond to the fears and social workers facing societies all over the globe.
An international MA in Social Work program; where students would be revolving between university sections in five European nations: Portugal, France, Poland, Denmark and the United Kingdom. The 22-month course is clearly aimed at competent, and knowledgeable social workers from all over the world, who wish to upgrade their practice skills, particularly with a multinational emphasis.
Eligibilities
The ADVANCES program is open to students who meet the following minimum criteria:
- Bachelor degree in social work (or a relevant subject – particularly if social work does not exist as a university discipline in your country)
- Specialized warrant as social worker (if mandatory by law in your country)
- One year of full-time employment or two years of part time/voluntary work experience in the field of social sector
- English capability equivalent to 6.5 Academic IELTS (with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking and minimum of 5.5 in Reading and Hearing
QUALIFIED DEGREE SUBJECTS
If social work is not offered in the applicant’s native country as a university degree program, then a relevant subject should be considered, including:
Social policy, human rights, social management, Social pedagogy, community development, humanitarian aid, sociology, special education, development studies, or children’s studies
The following subjects are not eligible as they don’t emphasize on sills and information for tackling the social causes of sidelining and direct work with vulnerable community:
Business Administration, Nursing, human resources, health, psychology, sports, law, science, geography, Medicine teaching, humanities, arts, economics, or political science.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
The professional full time/part time/charitable experience of the applicant must have comprised of direct work with user and patrons of social services. This is only because the course lays emphasis on practical skills and contains a high component of reflection on previous experience. Applicants with the experience in other areas (e.g. project management, policy) would not be considered eligible.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
All students are registered on ADVANCES must have an IELTS (Academic) qualification that is binding until at least October 2021. Applicant can apply to ADVANCES without proof of his/her English proficiency, but gaining the required certificate will be an offer condition and would need to be accomplished by May 2021.
SPECIAL COVID-19 MEASURES
Due to COVID-19, the ADVANCES programme will for the autumn 2021 intake accept the following language tests:
- IELTS Academic
- TOEFL IBT
- LanguageCert
The requirements for the IELTS Academic exam is: minimum IELTS 6.5 generalyl, 5.5 in Writing and Speaking, 5.5 in Reading and Hearing.
The requirements for the TOEFL IBT exam will be: minimum overall 90 points, Reading: minimum 18, Speaking: minimum 22, Writing: minimum 24. Listening: minimum 17

The top candidates to the course would be considered for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. If you are granted an Erasmus Mundus scholarship it would include the following fundamentals:
