Description
The Gadjah Mada International Fellowship (GMIF) program is a scholarship offered by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to international students coming from, but not limited to, ASEAN member countries (excluding Indonesia), South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and other countries that manage to demonstrate the need of financial assistance.

 

 

This program is dedicated to designated full-time and dual degree Master and Doctoral degree by coursework and research. The purpose of the GMIF program is to encourage potential candidates with excellent academic performance who wish to pursue the Master and Doctoral Program in any relevant and agreed field. Those with specific competence such as researchers, policymakers, or professionals will be prioritized in the application.

Eligibilities

  • Applicant must be accepted for admission to master program or doctoral program (regular, taught in Bahasa Indonesia) in UGM for the 2021/2022 academic year (start in August 2021)
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree for master program applicant or master’s degree for doctoral program applicant in Engineering, Science, Medicine/Health, Geography, Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Science, Economics, Law, Social Sciences and Humanity, or related fields
  • Excellent bachelor’s degree academic record (GPA of at least 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale or any other documents proving candidates adequate academic qualification) for master program applicants
  • Good proficiency in English (TOEFL score of at least 400 for applying Master Degree or 450 for applying Doctoral Program
  • Dissertation proposal for doctoral program applicant
  • Provide supporting documents required

The GMIF has two programs of scholarship :

 

GMIF Partial Coverage Scholarship

 

This type of scholarship is offered to the international students coming from countries mentioned in description. To be awarded this scholarship, recipients must be aware of their obligation to partially cover cost associated with their study and living during their study.

  • Waived tuition fee (2 semesters for Double Degree Program, 4 semesters for Master Program)
  • 1 semester for Indonesian Language Program/ INCULS (Blended learning system) only for those who enroll the INCULS Program
  • A round-trip international airfare (direct economy class)
  • Health insurance during the fellowship program
  • Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) during the fellowship program
  • Thesis research fund of Rp10.000.000 for Master Program
  • Students must cover their own living expenses during studies in Indonesia. The average cost
    of living expenses in Yogyakarta is US210

 

GMIF Full Coverage Scholarship

 

This type of scholarship is offered to the international students coming from Asia, Africa, Latin America, The Pacific, Middle East, and East Europe.

  • Waived tuition fee (2 semesters for Double Degree Program, 4 semesters for Master Program and 6 semesters for Doctoral Program)
  • Living allowance expenses according to Yogyakarta rate
    • 1 semester for Indonesian Language Program/ INCULS (Blended learning system) only for those who enroll the INCULS Program
    • 4 semesters for Master Program
    • 6 semesters for Doctoral Program
  • A round-trip international airfare (direct economy class)
  • Health insurance during the fellowship program

Description

The Gadjah Mada International Fellowship (GMIF) program is a scholarship offered by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to international students coming from, but not limited to, ASEAN member countries (excluding Indonesia), South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and other countries that manage to demonstrate the need of financial assistance.

 

 

This program is dedicated to designated full-time and dual degree Master and Doctoral degree by coursework and research. The purpose of the GMIF program is to encourage potential candidates with excellent academic performance who wish to pursue the Master and Doctoral Program in any relevant and agreed field. Those with specific competence such as researchers, policymakers, or professionals will be prioritized in the application.

BENIFITS

The GMIF has two programs of scholarship :

 

GMIF Partial Coverage Scholarship

 

This type of scholarship is offered to the international students coming from countries mentioned in description. To be awarded this scholarship, recipients must be aware of their obligation to partially cover cost associated with their study and living during their study.

  • Waived tuition fee (2 semesters for Double Degree Program, 4 semesters for Master Program)
  • 1 semester for Indonesian Language Program/ INCULS (Blended learning system) only for those who enroll the INCULS Program
  • A round-trip international airfare (direct economy class)
  • Health insurance during the fellowship program
  • Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) during the fellowship program
  • Thesis research fund of Rp10.000.000 for Master Program
  • Students must cover their own living expenses during studies in Indonesia. The average cost
    of living expenses in Yogyakarta is US210

 

GMIF Full Coverage Scholarship

 

This type of scholarship is offered to the international students coming from Asia, Africa, Latin America, The Pacific, Middle East, and East Europe.

  • Waived tuition fee (2 semesters for Double Degree Program, 4 semesters for Master Program and 6 semesters for Doctoral Program)
  • Living allowance expenses according to Yogyakarta rate
    • 1 semester for Indonesian Language Program/ INCULS (Blended learning system) only for those who enroll the INCULS Program
    • 4 semesters for Master Program
    • 6 semesters for Doctoral Program
  • A round-trip international airfare (direct economy class)
  • Health insurance during the fellowship program
  • Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) during the fellowship program
  • Thesis research fund of Rp10.000.000 for Master Program and Rp15.000.000 for Doctoral Program
  • Student Dormitory

Eligibilities

  • Applicant must be accepted for admission to master program or doctoral program (regular, taught in Bahasa Indonesia) in UGM for the 2021/2022 academic year (start in August 2021)
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree for master program applicant or master’s degree for doctoral program applicant in Engineering, Science, Medicine/Health, Geography, Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Science, Economics, Law, Social Sciences and Humanity, or related fields
  • Excellent bachelor’s degree academic record (GPA of at least 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale or any other documents proving candidates adequate academic qualification) for master program applicants
  • Good proficiency in English (TOEFL score of at least 400 for applying Master Degree or 450 for applying Doctoral Program
  • Dissertation proposal for doctoral program applicant
  • Provide supporting documents required

Register online at the UGM admission system by filling and uploading the following documents:

  • Good health statement from applicant’s doctor
  • Proof of English proficiency (ITP TOEFL, IBT TOEFL or IELTS)
