ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Torino Forum will be leveraging innovation and technology to bring together participants in a series of virtual discussions and interactive exchanges. The Forum will benefit from a number of virtual tools enabling true exchange among participants. Participation from a number of time zones will be possible by convening live in the afternoon Central European Time.
Course Contents:
The overall theme of the 2020 Virtual Torino Forum for Sustaining Peace is “Women and Youth at the Frontlines” – which will guide and set the stage for all sessions throughout the week. A series of virtual discussions and exchanges will explore the state of play for advancing the Women, Peace and Security, and Youth, Peace and Security agendas as well as peacebuilding at large – in an open exchange with the wider peacebuilding community.
Plenary sessions will be combined with smaller group workshops. Each breakout workshop will be focused on a critical agenda item and will invite active participation from all participants – co-creation will be the goal. These sessions will also serve as collaboration hubs for identifying best practices, plans and future initiatives.
In the context of the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2013-2022), on day 1 the Forum will also host a cultural event to leverage the potential of music by bringing together the cultural, ethnic, linguistic and religious diversity in support of commonly shared values around peace.
