Description
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program is the UN organization that promotes volunteerism to support peace and development worldwide. Volunteerism can transform the pace and nature of development and it benefits both society at large and the individual volunteer. UNV contributes to peace and development by advocating for volunteerism globally, encouraging partners to integrate volunteerism into development programming, and mobilizing volunteers.
- Under the direct supervision of Ms. Amélie Voninirina, GBCI Project Coordinator the United Nations Volunteer will perform the following tasks:
- Financial management of the project. Participate in the preparation of the budget for the Annual work and operational plans.
- Follow up on the budget.
- Manage treasuries.
- Prepare all payment requests, keep financial records and prepare the required financial reports in accordance with the financial rules and procedures of national implementation.
- Classify the documents and documents of the program.
- Establish financial statements: statement of disbursements, bank reconciliation.
- Liaise on the conduct of the project audit and ensure auditors’ access to project documentation , staff and institutions involved in the project.
- Follow up on project audit exercises.
Administrative management
- Maintain financial and technical records and files and reports.
- Follow the acquisition files of goods and services.
- Support the Coordinator in drafting reports and monitoring project evaluation activities,
- Take notes during project meetings and write correspondence as needed.
Logistics management:
- Help organize events (meetings, seminars, workshops, trainings, missions, etc.) and ensure the appropriate logistical arrangements.
- Manage stocks of office supplies and computer consumables;
Prepare internal and external travel arrangements for project staff and Monitor vehicle use; - Update the inventory of durable goods;
- Support the purchase of goods and services, monitor the issuance of contracts and payments as well as the maintenance, development and updating of an asset register.
- Undertake other tasks required by the project.
Eligibilities
- Secondary education
- Completion of secondary school with certification in Management, Finance or equivalent field, Bac + 3 diploma preferable.
- 36 Months
- 3 years preferable in the field of administration, finance or equivalent
French (Mandatory), Level – Fluent
- Administration and administrative assistance, Other finance, economics and administration related experience
- Computer skills: Good knowledge of computer tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.

- Demonstrate integrity by conforming to UN values and moral standards.
- Foster the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP.
- Demonstrate ability to operate in a challenging environment not take into account the cultural difference , gender, religion, race, nationality and sensitivity.
- Demonstrate rigor in the work, a great availability, an aptitude for teamwork and a developed spirit of initiative.
Minimum age should be 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.

The volunteer would receive a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) which covers basic needs, housing and utilities. Additionally, UNV will provide a settling-in-grant, life, health, and permanent disability insurance, return airfares and a nominal resettlement allowance.

- Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteering by reading the documentation made available by UNV, external publications and actively taking part in UNV program activities, e.g. getting involved in commemorative activities of the International Volunteer Day (JIV), December 5.
- Familiarize yourself with and develop any form of traditional and / or local volunteering at the host country level.
- Reflect the type and nature of voluntary actions they undertake, including their participation in substantive reflections.
- Contribute to the writing of articles on field experiences to be submitted for publication UNV program / website, newsletter and press briefings, etc.
- Contribute to the Hosting Program for United Nations Volunteers newly arrived in the country of assignment.
- Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteers or
encourage individuals and organizations to use the services of online volunteers when technically possible.
