The Redekop School of Business is developing the potential of future business leaders to bring together sound business practice with commitments of faith, generosity, and service.

 

Studies in Business and Organizational Administration prepare students for future work in businesses and not-for-profit organizations. This professional program will take you from the classroom to the workplace, offering you opportunities to gain the skills, understanding, and wisdom that will set you apart as a team player and visionary leader.

Eligibilities

Eligibilities
  • Is completing a high school diploma or is shifting from another post-secondary. (If shifting, the award would be prorated to begin at 2nd or 3rd year whatever is appropriate to the credits transferred.)
  • Is accepted into the Redekop School of Business with a CMU academic entrance average of 80% over three academic subjects including either Pre-Calculus Math 40S or Applied Math 40S (or equivalents), and English, with a least grade of 60% in each.
  • Plans to register in full-time studies at CMU (minimum 9 credit hours per semester).

 

A student may apply for one or all of the Merit Awards and also for a Leadership Scholarship. However, students may only receive one Merit Award (Academic, Music, Science, Business, or Athletic) or the Leadership Scholarship.

 

Continuing Eligibility:

 

  • GPA of 3.5
  • Enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester at CMU
  • Continued enrolment in a CMU business degree

Merit Awards recognize CMU students who are gifted in specific areas of achievement and who desire to excel and contribute to CMU in these areas. Each year up to 19 Merit Awards ($1000-$1500 per year up to four years) are given to students upon entering CMU.

 

Business Merit Awards recognize CMU students who are business-minded and who desire to enter a business program at CMU. Each year 3 Business Merit Awards (maximum value $6,000; $1500 per year up to four years) are awarded to students entering CMU. In order to qualify for a Business Merit Award, students must submit this application and have one nomination submitted from someone who can speak to your suitability for study in the Redekop School of Business (e.g. teacher, employer).

The following are required to be considered for the Business Merit Award:

 

  • A completed Redekop School of Business Intent Form, including a 250 word statement addressing what motivates and encourages you to follow your chosen area of study. This must be completed through your application portal.
  • A nomination form submitted by someone who can endorse you to CMU’s business school. This will be automatically sent to your nominator at the time of form completion.

Applicants must meet CMU’s regular admission requirements, except that one of the grade 12 subjects they must present is Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S course (or equivalent). Applicants who have not completed the mathematics requirement will be considered on a case-by-case basis for special admission, conditional upon completing that requirement during the first year at CMU.

 

Bachelor of Business Administration, Co-op Option

 

The standard admission process is through an initial year in the Bachelor of Business Administration. Students who complete the first year with at least four required or restricted elective courses in Business and Organizational Administration, with a minimum grade of “B” in each and an overall minimum GPA of 2.5 over 30 credit hours, are eligible to apply for admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration, Co-op Option.

 

Alternatively, applicants may seek admission directly from high school if they have an average of 85% over three academic courses including Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S and English 40S (or equivalents), with a minimum grade of 60% in each.

 

Bachelor of Arts, three- or four-year, with a major in Business and Organizational Administration
