Description
The Generation Google Scholarship for women in computer science has been initiated to assist ambitious computer scientists to excel in technology and become leaders in the field. Scholarships would be granted on the basis of each applicant’s strength and impact on diversity demonstrated headship, and academic background. The program is open to capable applicants who meet all the minimum qualifications. Women passionate about computer science studies are strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligibilities
To be qualified to apply, candidates must:
- Be presently registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2020-21 academic year
- Aim to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. program at any reputable university in Africa, Europe, or the Middle East for the 2021-2022 academic year
- Be studying computer engineering, computer science, or a closely correlated technical field
- Demonstrate a strong academic record
- Demonstrate leadership and a desire for improving the representation of diminished groups in computer science and technology
Benefits
Nominated candidates would receive a 7,000 EUR award (or local equivalent) for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Applicants would be asked to complete an online application that contains:
- Overall background information (e.g., contact information with details about applicant’s current and future universities)
- Resume/CV
- Academic transcripts from current and previous institutions of the applicants (if they have earned a previous degree)
- One reference letter from a supervisor, lecturer, instructor, or adviser
- Responses to four short essay queries
- Receivers would be designated based on the general strength of their essays alongside application materials compared to the entire pool of applicants or respective peers (e.g., Bachelors’s students compared to other Bachelors’s students).

Terms and conditions
The Generation Google Scholarship for women in computer science is open to capable students who meet the eligibility conditions. The scholarship award must be spent on fees, tuition, books, equipment, and supplies mandatory for the students’ classes at their primary university. Scholarship receivers must be enrolled as full-time students for the 2021-2022 academic year. Enrollment would be confirmed after the winners are nominated. The administration would refuse the award for any scholar who no longer meets the eligibility conditions and revoke the award for any scholar who fails to maintain the eligibility requirements. Nominated recipients would receive advice from Google on how to accept the award. Failure to complete these phases by the stated deadline would prohibit recipients from getting the award. Receivers may accept their award for up to one (1) year from the time of initially planned payment on a case-by-case basis as determined by Google. Google staffs are not qualified to apply for Google scholarships. Individuals who are (1) citizens of embargoed countries, (2) normally resident in embargoed countries, or (3) otherwise proscribed by valid export controls and sanctions programs may not apply for this scholarship.
