Chevening Scholarships for 2021/2022 are now open until 3 November 2020.

 

Chevening is a global scholarship program that offered by UK Government’s with the purpose to offer future leaders, a unique opportunity to study in the UK. These scholarships are granted to brilliant students from everywhere in the world, for pursuing a master’s degree of one-year from any university in UK.

 

Fully-funded scholarships are provided, enabling candidates to freely focus on achieving their academic goals, while enjoying their lifetime experience. The beneficiaries would be studying and living in UK for a year, they would experience UK culture, develop intellectually and professionally, grow their network, and build permanent positive relationships throughout the year.

 

The candidates with the strong academic background, leadership abilities, and desire, are encouraged by the administration to apply.

Eligibilities

In order to be qualified for the Chevening Scholarship, the applicant must:

 

  • Be a resident of a Chevening-eligible territory or country.
  • Return to their country of residency for two years minimum period after the award has concluded.
  • Have accomplished all components of an undergraduate degree that would enable the applicants to gain entry into a postgraduate program at a university in UK by the time he/she submits the application. This is characteristically equivalent to 2:1 honors degree of an upper second-class in the UK but may be different on the basis of university choice and course.
  • Have at least two years of work experience, equivalent to 2,800 hours
  • Apply to three different eligible courses in any of UK’s university and have received an unconditional offer from any of the preferred choices by 15 July 2021.

 

The applicant wont be qualified for a Chevening Scholarship, if he/she:

 

  • Holds British or dual British citizenship (except the applicant is a resident of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) and applying from Hong Kong).
  • With refugee status in a non-Chevening eligible country. Candidates who are residents of a Chevening qualified country and who hold refugee status in a Chevening eligible country are qualified for the scholarship.
  • Either a current or a former worker, or somehow associated with associate worker (since July 2017) of Great Britain Government (including British embassies/high commissions; the Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy department; the house workplace, the Department for International Trade, and therefore the Defense Ministry), or an affiliate of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
  • Either a current or a former employee, or somehow related to an employee (since July 2017) of Chevening Partner administrations are qualified to apply, but would not receive a Chevening Partner Award from the institution, where they work, formerly worked, or are associated with through relatives.
  • Have earlier studied in the UK with backing from a UK Government-funded scholarship.

 

Once the application submitted, it would go under an electronic examination against the eligibility conditions. Any applications considered unqualified would be removed from the selection procedure. Applicant must see the list of common errors here before submission. The application would be unqualified, if the applicant makes such mistakes in the application form. Please note that once your Once the application submitted, won’t be able to be changed by the applicant.

  • If the applicant has been eventually selected for a Chevening Scholarship on conditional basis, it is important that in order to remain in the process, these documents must be submitted

 

Scholars take a not less than eight months from the deadline of application to when candidates are provisionally nominated for an award. Here is an outline of the application and selection procedure, so the applicant is aware the what’s going on.

 

  • 3 SEPTEMBER 2020 – Application is open at 12:00 GMT
  • 3 NOVEMBER 2020 – Applications are closed at 12:00 GMT
  • 4 NOVEMBER 2020 – Applications are evaluated as per the eligibility criteria.
  • Mid-November to December 2020-Reading assessments of committee
  • Early to Mid-February 2021 – Candidates nominated for interviews
  • 22 February 2021 –The deadline of the submission of two references along with educational documents is 12:00 GMT (midday).
