The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a partnership between the the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).
PhD training would be held in English language at the applicant’s preferred lab at A*STAR Research Institutes, NTU, NUS or SUTD. Students would be administered by eminent researchers from all around the world, in these labs. After the program ends, students will be given a PhD degree by either or SUTD, NTU, or NUS.
As Singapore acts as a gateway to some of the world’s fastest-growing economies located in the Asia Pacific region, so with SINGA, the applicant has the opportunity to not pursue PhD education in Singapore, but also establish worldwide links and take his/her research profession to the greater level.
SINGA fosters a culturally diverse and vibrant research community of international students. The candidate would be working in a diverse environment alongside eminent researchers from all around the world in advanced facilities.
Eligibilities
- Open to all international graduates with the outstanding academic results and research passion
- Excellent skills in spoken and written English
- Good reports from academic judges
The eligibility criteria mentioned above are not comprehensive.
A*STAR may include other selection criteria on the basis of principal procedures of scholarship. These procedures may be modified with the passage of time without any announcement.
Benefits
The award also provides backing for up to 4 years of Ph.D. studies, which included:
- Education fees
- The applicant would get a monthly stipend of S$2,000, which would be increased to S$2,500 after the passing of the Examination to qualify.
- One-time airfare funding of up to S$1,500*
- One-time settling-in grant of S$1,000*

- Two recommendation reports (to be completed and submitted online by the referees).
