Description
Terra Foundation free artists residency in Europe is now open for 2021. The Terra Foundation was founded in 2001, it brings together American scholars of doctoral-level of arts and new emerging artists from around the world for a nine-week fellowship program in Giverny, France.
The Terra Foundation fellowship provides training and mentoring to the emerging artist by the scholars, and also encourages independent work while in France. The summer art fellowship allows the participants to enhance their skills and provides the opportunity to increase their academic domain, bring in more perspective, exchange cultural ideas, and create a worldwide network.
The art residency provides stipend, accommodation, and meals for the duration of the 2021 summer residency.
Eligibilities
Terra Foundation Free Artists Residency in Europe 2021 Eligibility criteria:
- Only doctoral candidates who are working on American visual arts and arts prior to 1980s
- Visual artists with a masters degree or equivalent are also eligible.
- The candidates must be nominated by their advisor or professor or previous art-school supervisor
- Must be fluent in English, knowledge of French is also an asset

Benefits of the Terra Foundation Residency in Europe 2021:
The Summer art fellowship will provide:
- A stipend of US $5,000, $300 will also be given to the artist for the material purchase
- Accommodation will also be provided at the Terra Foundation residencies, along with meals
- The summer residency will not accommodate family members
