Description
UNITAD is the Investigative Team directed by Security Council resolution 2379 (2017) to support national efforts to hold ISIL (Da’esh) accountable for their crimes by gathering, preserving, and storing evidence in Iraq of acts that may amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and massacre committed by the terrorist group ISIL (Da’esh) in Iraq.
Reflecting the universal influence and reach of ISIL terror acts, as well as its widespread recruitment of overseas terrorist units, the Council has also demanded the Special Adviser and Head of UNITAD to promote throughout the world, responsibility for acts that may amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide committed by ISIL, and work with survivors to guarantee their interests in achieving accountability are completely recognized.
Eligibilities
Minimum age of applicants must be 25 years old, nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty station.
Education:
- University degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in a related area, Business Administration or area linked to Admin & Property management a first-level university degree or comparable in amalgamation with relevant training and/or proficient experience may be recognized in lieu of an advanced university degree;
- At least 3 years of professional work experience at the local or global level in managing admin or logistic segments, or other relevant programmes; experience working in the UN or other international development organization is required; experience with Admin, Finance and budgeting and working on the SAP systems is a highly desirable.
Experience:
- 36 Months Required
- Brilliant verbal and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting services;
- Accurateness and professionalism in document production and editing;
- Excellent interpersonal services; traditionally and socially delicate; capability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of associates, including popular community affiliates, religious and youth administrations, and authorities at diverse levels; familiarity with methods and tools of communications for development;

A UN Volunteer receives a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) which is composed of the Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) and a Family Allowance (FA) for those with dependents (maximum three).
The Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. The VLA can be computed by applying the Post-Adjustment Multiplier (PAM) to the VLA base rate of US$ 1,651. The VLA base rate is a global rate across the world, while the PAM is duty station/country-specific and fluctuates on a monthly basis according to the cost of living.
This method ensures that international UN Volunteers have comparable purchasing power at all duty stations irrespective of varying costs of living. The PAM is established by the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) and is published at the beginning of every month on the ICSC website http://icsc.un.org.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Description of task
Within the delegated authority and under the direct direction of UNITAD head of mission support management office or his/her nominated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Administrative Officer will:
General Administration:
- Reports to the head of MSCO and guarantees general coordination and effective implementation of all organizational support within the Erbil office.
- Provides direction to the HoO on managerial support that can be provided under the following parameters: UN Financial instructions and guidelines, staff rules, organizational policies, advices, specific delegation of authority, and in addition mission and local priorities.
- Manages the provision of leadership, training and daily management to other staff in the
Area of Responsibility:
- Authenticating and Classifying monthly cost recoveries linked to UNITAD Erbil office.
- Manage the supply chain activities at the local level in close management with the HQ associated with the accepted budget, trace all consignment and follow up till transfer to the Erbil region.
- Support in the inventory management activities at the regional level in close management with end users and the property management Section at the HQ in Baghdad.
- Establishing archiving system for Erbil MSCO office to be observed with UNITAD MSCO archiving system.
- Performs other related administrative duties, as required (e.g., functioning travel program, monitoring accounts and expenses to salespersons and specific contractors for services, physical space arrangement and the identification of office technology requirements and preservation of apparatus, software and systems, organizes and organizes seminars, conferences and translations).
- Coordinates widely with service components and liaises regularly with internal team members both at Headquarters and in the field mission.
- Classifies and resolves diverse matters and problems as they arise, determining the suitable actions.
- any other related duties as may be required.
Budget and Finance:
- Monitors and evaluates the work programme and budget by conducting regular and special evaluations to calculate actual work progress versus the programme plan. Manages the production of programme reports.
- Administers and/or provides direction on financial management and management information issues and practices to colleagues.
