Description
The Logistics Associate works in close collaboration with the Programme and Operations staff supporting both the country office, as well as UNFPA Field Offices across Sudan. The incumbent is expected to provide effective logistical support and work closely with procurement, programme and operations staff in order to ensure programme delivery.
Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Head, Field Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for broad based support to the successful management of downstream supply activities such shipping and clearance activities undertaken by UNFPA Sudan Country Office. This position will support the country office with procurements, management of shipments, customs clearance, regulatory compliance, import activities and any insurance related matters for management of programme supplies in Syrian county office. The Logistics Associate will also assume the responsibility of liaising with the relevant stakeholders for obtaining facilitation letters for inland shipments and ensuring compliance with the 2018 policy on management of programme supplies.
Eligibilities
Applicants must be 22 years old and must have citizenship or legal residency in the country of assignment
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administrations, Economics or related field
Experience:
- 24 months experience Required
- Two years of experience in procurement, Logistics, supply chain, admin, finance or general operations management is required.
Language:
- English (Mandatory) , Level – Fluent
- Arabic (Mandatory) , Level – Fluent
Area of Expertise:
- Logistics and supply management Mandatory
- Administration and administrative assistance Mandatory
- Finance, accounting and audit Mandatory
Benefits
Travel to duty station (if applicable) and a Settling-In-Grant will be provided in the event the duty station is not within commuting distance from the place of recruitment.
The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.

Such restrictions make it very difficult for international UN Volunteers to begin their assignments at their assigned duty station and UNV cannot guarantee assignments will proceed as normal.
