Description
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program is the UN organization that promotes volunteerism to support peace and development worldwide. Volunteerism can transform the pace and nature of development and it benefits both societies at large and the individual volunteer. UNV contributes to peace and development by advocating for volunteerism globally, encouraging partners to integrate volunteerism into development programming, and mobilizing volunteers. In most cultures volunteerism is deeply embedded in long-established, ancient traditions of sharing and support within the communities.
This position is to support the WHO Thailand Country Office in executing and monitoring procurement services and functions. The incumbent will work at the WHO Country Office but could also be asked to work from home, depending on the COVID-19 situation. S/he will perform a variety of procurement related functions, mainly related to COVID-19, in collaboration with the Procurement Assistant and other colleagues in the office, and under the supervision of the Administrative Officer.
Eligibilities
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Required degree level:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, such as Business Administration.
Experience:
- 36 Months Experience Required
- 3 years at the national level in planning, implementing and monitoring procurement services.
Language skills:
- English(Mandatory), Level – Fluent
- Thai(Mandatory), Level – Fluent
Area of expertise:
Procurement and contracting
Benefits
Travel to duty station (if applicable) and a Settling-In-Grant will be provided in the event the duty station is not within commuting distance from the place of recruitment.
The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service
