UNMISS was established in 2011 under the sponsorship of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO); afterwards, the mandate of UNMISS has been transformed through various resolutions 2057 (2012), 2109 (2013), 2155 (2014), 2187 (2014), 2223 (2015), 2241 (Dec. 2015), 2304 (2016), 2327 (20162392 (2017), 2406 (2018), 2418 (2018), 2428 (2018) and 2459 (2019).
Eligibilities
Minimum age of applicants must be 25 years old, nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty station.
Education:
First level degree preferably in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Commerce.
Experience:
- 36 Months Required
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in warehousing and inventory management in retail logistics and/or exposure to any of the Supply Chain Management functional components.
English (Mandatory) , Level – Fluent
- Logistics and supply management
- Solid computer skills, including full proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word etc.)
- Other IT applications and office technology equipment
Other skills/experience and qualifications

- Proven ability to analyse data
- Experience in a large international organization is an advantage
- Have a valid driver’s license and proven ability to drive manual gear 4×4 vehicles. Holding a fork lift license is an advantage

A UN Volunteer receives a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) which is composed of the Monthly Living Allowance (MLA) and a Family Allowance (FA) for those with dependents (maximum three).
The Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. The VLA can be computed by applying the Post-Adjustment Multiplier (PAM) to the VLA base rate of US$ 1,651. The VLA base rate is a global rate across the world, while the PAM is duty station/country-specific and fluctuates on a monthly basis according to the cost of living.
This method ensures that international UN Volunteers have comparable purchasing power at all duty stations irrespective of varying costs of living. The PAM is established by the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) and is published at the beginning of every month on the ICSC website http://icsc.un.org.

Description of task
Under the direct administration of Warehouse Officer/Supervisor, the UN Volunteer would be undertaking the following tasks:
- Receiving and processing requirements for goods alongside preparing the pick list and issue vouchers for request that have been approved
- Preparing inventory for delivery against permitted issue vouchers and guaranteeing timely delivery of goods to the recipients
- Backing identification of “minimum, restock (re-order) and maximum stock levels” of Supply warehouse resources
- Preparing numerous Warehouse Activity Reports with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), inventory, one hundred percent (100%) expendable statistical reports
- Providing administration and training to junior employees in stock management, records keeping, receiving and examination, operations in the warehouse, goods delivery and reception of proper documentation for stuffs supplied
- Making sure that the Warehouse employees cautiously monitor the treatment of issue vouchers, picking stocks and preparation of issue vouchers for distribution to clients, in order to avoid possible errors in the procedure
- Following the issue and consumption of expendable objects and developing scales of issue
- Supporting the commencement of write-off activities and organizing with Service Support Sections/Claims/Board of Survey (BOS)/Local Property Survey Board (LPSB). Informing asset position in the Galileo system
- Undertaking the conduct of regular stock take of expendable products. Conducting yearly full physical inventories as mandatory
- Authenticating level of inventory stock on the basis of claim history. Studying history of demand and confirming Days of Supply (DOS) levels for on hand stock, levels of safety stock and minimum/maximum levels for inventory. Executing measures to avoid a stock out condition for fast-moving things from occurring and preparing lists of stock renewal for approval of the Warehouse Officer
- Storing, Receiving, preserving security and supplying of stocks to the Integrated Warehouse patrons and sustaining a precise transaction history for all issues and receipts. Conducting appropriate warehouse housekeeping on a continuous basis. Guaranteeing all items received for storage are branded, appropriately settled in the storage shelves/bins and suitably entered into the record
- Supporting the preparation of goods supplies for the eligible clients in the region. Communicating with the County Support Base (CSB) management staff about CSB requirements
- Guaranteeing database accurateness for the movement of stock in the warehouse. When inconsistencies are noted, initiating examination and improvement of database records as required
- Submitting reports at prearranged time intermissions for activities in all warehouses to administration
- Performing any other linked responsibilities as may be mandatory by the Warehouse Officer or State Administrator.
