UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. Based on the vision of gender equality proclaimed by the United Nations Charter, UN Women works to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women and girls, empower women, and achieve gender equality as partners and actors in development, human rights, humanitarian action, peace and security.

 

The Morocco Country Office works within the framework of UN Women’s normative, coordination, and programmatic mandates with governmental and non-governmental partners towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment in Morocco. As part of its normative mandate, UN Women Morocco works with national and local governments as well as civil society organizations towards developing and implementing laws and public policies to eliminate violence against women and girls. It also supports women Members of Parliament to harmonize national legal frameworks with international commitments and constitutional provisions on women’s rights. Within the framework of its coordination mandate, UN Women Morocco leads, promotes and coordinates efforts within the UN development system to advance the full realization of women’s rights and opportunities by developing accountability mechanisms and producing gender-sensitive data in support of evidence-based policies and programs.

Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

 

Candidate must be around 18 to 29 years old.

 

Applicant must posses following capabilities.

 

  • Master degree in Finance, Economics or social sciences required.
  • 12 months experience required.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Expert in Development program/project administration Mandatory or Monitoring/Evaluation

  • A UN Volunteer receives a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) per month and is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. The VLA can be computed by applying the Post-Adjustment Multiplier (PAM) to the VLA base rate of (choose from the drop-down menu the appropriate rate here): US$1,321. The VLA base rate is a global rate, while the PAM is country-specific and fluctuates on a monthly basis according to the cost of living.
  • UNV provides life, health, permanent disability insurances as well as assignment travel, annual leave, full integration in the UN security framework
  • UN Volunteers are paid Daily Subsistence Allowance at the UN rate for official travels, flight tickets for the final repatriation travel (if applicable). A resettlement allowance is paid for satisfactory service at the end of the assignment.
