Some scholarships are specifically designated for students who are applying to one of Uppsala University’s Master’s programmes, while others are open to both Master’s and Bachelor’s applicants. Some scholarships are open for all citizens of a country outside of the European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, whilst others are only open to citizens of certain countries. The scholarships available for application may vary from year to year.

  • You must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
  • You must demonstrate academic talent and show interest in being in an educational environment.
  • You can only be awarded an Uppsala University Global Scholarship for a Master’s programme at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the programme which you have ranked the highest of the four programmes you can choose at University Admissions).
  • You must have applied for the Master’s programme before the University Admissions deadline.
  • You must meet the entry requirements for the Master’s programme you applied for. The application fee and your complete supporting documents must be received by University Admissions before the deadline.

STEP 1: APPLY FOR A BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S PROGRAMME

 

Before you can apply for Uppsala University’s scholarships, you must first apply for one of Uppsala University’s international Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes as your first priority at official website. For programmes starting in the autumn semester 2021, you must submit an online application between 16 October 2020 and 15 January 2021. The deadline for receipt of supporting documents and application fee that are required by University Admissions is 1 February 2021. If your application on official website is considered late, you will not be eligible for the Uppsala University scholarships.

 

Once you have submitted your application at universityadmissions.se, you will get a personal application number consisting of eight digits. Save the number as you will need it when applying for our scholarships.

STEP 2: SUBMIT AN ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

 

After the application period for study programmes ends, the application period for Uppsala University scholarships opens. The application to University Admissions and application for Uppsala University scholarships have two separate application procedures. You must submit one separate online application for our scholarships during our scholarship application period 16 January – 1 February 2021.

 

In the online scholarship application form, you do not need to submit any documents. In the form, you need to fill in your personal details, the Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at Uppsala University that you applied for as your first priority, and your application number that you got at official website. You must also specify which scholarship programme(s) you are applying to. Additionally, you need to write a motivation letter explaining why you should be awarded the scholarship. Your motivation letter should not exceed 350 words and should reflect the eligibility criteria of the scholarship programme.

 

You may apply to more than one scholarship programme, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria. However, it is only possible to be awarded one scholarship from Uppsala University.

 

There is no application fee when applying for Uppsala University’s scholarships. However, there is an application fee when applying for your study programmes on official website.

APPLICATION PROCESS

STEP 1: APPLY FOR A BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S PROGRAMME

 

Before you can apply for Uppsala University’s scholarships, you must first apply for one of Uppsala University’s international Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes as your first priority at official website. For programmes starting in the autumn semester 2021, you must submit an online application between 16 October 2020 and 15 January 2021. The deadline for receipt of supporting documents and application fee that are required by University Admissions is 1 February 2021. If your application on official website is considered late, you will not be eligible for the Uppsala University scholarships.

 

Once you have submitted your application at universityadmissions.se, you will get a personal application number consisting of eight digits. Save the number as you will need it when applying for our scholarships.

STEP 2: SUBMIT AN ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

 

After the application period for study programmes ends, the application period for Uppsala University scholarships opens. The application to University Admissions and application for Uppsala University scholarships have two separate application procedures. You must submit one separate online application for our scholarships during our scholarship application period 16 January – 1 February 2021.

 

In the online scholarship application form, you do not need to submit any documents. In the form, you need to fill in your personal details, the Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at Uppsala University that you applied for as your first priority, and your application number that you got at official website. You must also specify which scholarship programme(s) you are applying to. Additionally, you need to write a motivation letter explaining why you should be awarded the scholarship. Your motivation letter should not exceed 350 words and should reflect the eligibility criteria of the scholarship programme.

 

You may apply to more than one scholarship programme, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria. However, it is only possible to be awarded one scholarship from Uppsala University.

 

There is no application fee when applying for Uppsala University’s scholarships. However, there is an application fee when applying for your study programmes on official website.
