Description
The sole purpose of the scholarship is to provide support with tuition fees for high achieving international students beginning a relevant program at The University of Queensland in Semester 1, 2021.
Eligibilities
An applicant is qualified for the award of a scholarship, if the applicant:
- is an international student
- has applied to start studies at UQ on a full-time basis in a related program beginning Semester 1, 2021 and has received an absolute offer;
- will join full time
- has fulfilled the English language proficiency requirements and program entry rank
- has not received another scholarship from UQ
- has not received a full scholarship/sponsorship from another organization (candidates with partial scholarships/supports would be considered at the University’s decision)
- is an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student and has achieved a CGPA equivalent of 6.75 and above (on the UQ 7-point scale)
- is a high school leaver and has achieved an entry rank of 99
- is a credit articulation student from a UQ partner organization and has achieved an equivalent CGPA of 6.75 and above (on the UQ 7-point scale) (relevant to all programs covered by an articulation treaty, if then determined by the University).
Benefits
- The value of the scholarship is a 20% discount in tuition fees per year.
- The maximum time of the scholarship is four years or the period of the program where it less than four years.

- Awarding of this scholarship is merit based and competitive.
- Students offered the scholarship will be informed by email and will have until the deadline detailed in the email to accept.
- Students who do not accept by the due date will not be considered for future scholarship offer rounds.
- The 20% tuition fee waiver will be applied prior to the tuition fees due date each semester.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Termination of scholarship
The University will dismiss the scholarship:
- If the receiver does not enroll in a relevant program in the proposed semester of commencement;
- If the student commits serious misconduct;
- If the student fails a subject in their first semester;
- If the student fails to achieve acceptable academic progress.
Appeals against termination of scholarship
Appeals regarding the termination of the scholarship will be heard by the Head of International Admissions, who may consider this and seek approval from the Director, Future Students.
