How to Apply for Erasmus Mundus Scholarship 2021?
Erasmus Mundus Catalogue has all Joint Master Degrees (EMJMDs) which will offer EU-funded scholarships for courses happening in the year 2021-22 batch.
Applications of Masters usually open in late Oct and require submission between Dec and Jan or maybe till February/March. Opening and closing dates vary program wise.
Some new MS programs are added to the list of offered MS programs and a few from them are removed as well. Erasmus Joint Master programs details are given in the Erasmus Mundus catalogue link above and also have website links of other scholarship programs. Contact coordinators of every program for specific queries. As mentioned above every program has its own application submission time. Some master’s programs require application submission between October and January-February.
Students will apply to a maximum of 3 different programs . They can also directly reach the relevant master degree facilitators through email or phone number for additional info on courses and application procedures.
Step 1: General Eligibility
- 16 Years of Education is a must. However last semester/year students can also apply to many Master's programs if they expect their undergraduate degrees to be completed around June/July 2021. But you need to check out the website of that specific program and email the facilitators to confirm your eligibility.
- English Language proficiency is a compulsory requirement. In some programs, English Proficiency Letter is acceptable from your University, while others want an IELTS/TOEFL certificate to apply for a scholarship program. You’ll have to check the requirement of IELTS as some ask for 6.5 or 7 scores in IELTS or equivalent in TOEFL.
- A passport is required as an Identity Document to apply for a scholarship, so keep it ready around Sept/Oct.
Step 2: Required Documents
For example, 20% of education, 15% professional knowledge in the same field, 10% subject information, etc.
- Transcript & Degree should be available or accessible around June/July 2021)
- 2 Letters of Recommendation are required and the format varies program wise. Check your online application, it will contain guidelines.
- A motivation letter is a must. Word count varies so it’s required to check it before writing. Some don't describe any limit, others could ask for only 1 paragraph.
- CV in Europass format
- Valid Passport
- Certificate of Residence: It tells that you just haven't been living in Europe for one or more years among the last five years especially if you wish to take it as a partner country student. Otherwise, even being Pakistani you'll be considered a program country applicant. Certificate of residence is considered as a letter from your university, workplace or municipal office and so forth and acquired attested ideally from a notary lawyer.
The sole reason for checking this letter is to ensure that you shouldn’t have lived for twelve months or more in Europe in the last five years. Otherwise, you are considered program country students, similar to European nationals and not partner country students. Pak/India and all non-Europeans are therefore getting higher scholarships because we are not from Europe so our price of attending would be high.
Any alternative documents you hold as necessary for your selection like experience certificates, GRE scores, projects, perhaps if they’re high, certificates, seminars, conferences, honours and awards, workshops attended, etc. (These are not needed but uploaded within the uploads section or hooked up to Europass CV to point out your credentials).
Step 03: After Application Submission
Erasmus Mundus is a very prestigious and competitive scholarship that’s why it is recommended to read the erasmus+ interview guide.
The date of acceptance or rejection varies in line with deadlines. Some programs have early deadlines that’s why they announce results a bit ahead of others. However, after selection, all candidates have to fly to Europe usually around September. If you apply in Erasmus Mundus, the call will be starting in October 2021 and if you get selected, you may head to your Home Country University in Sep 2022.
