US Fulbright Scholarship for Pakistani Students 2021-22 (Fully Funded)
Each year, around four thousand students from one hundred and fifty-five countries from around the world bag this honorable scholarship and get to live their dream of studying in U.S. universities and other institutions in Masters and Ph.D. programs. This program is open to all disciplines except for clinical medicine.
The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan allows free study in the USA for Pakistani students. It is the sole body that caters to the application process and needs of all the students who want to apply for the Fulbright Scholarship program.
US Fulbright Scholarship 2021 - 2022 Details
The Fulbright scholarship (for Pakistani students) for a master’s degree is designed to equip its fellows with not just academic but cultural knowledge as well. Getting to experience a cultural exchange program enables participants’ behavioral and cognitive abilities as well as enhancing their intercultural competence. Therefore, it is essential to weigh in the extrinsic benefits of the program as well.
Fields of Study
Fulbright scholarship eligibility is for excellent students who are committed to giving back to their communities, are highly encouraged to apply. The scholarship is for all Masters and Ph.D. programs except clinical medicine.
When you are applying for the Master’s Program, you must have a completed four-year Bachelor’s degree or a combination of a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree that can equal 16 years of education. Your degrees must be from accredited universities. You must also have proof of English language proficiency. For this, IELTS or TOEFL are highly recognized tests that are accepted all over the world. Your personal statement also plays a vital role in getting accepted for this scholarship. So make sure you do a great job on it!
Note: Students who have an interest in medical fields and have done MBBS are open to apply for fields such as Public Health etc. where they can focus on research.
How to Apply for US Fulbright Scholarship for Pakistani Students?
Once you fulfill the Fulbright scholarship requirements, your application is completely submitted online including uploading all the required documents.
Once you have submitted your application, an email is sent to the referees you have listed in it. The referees have to either submit the recommendation letters online or they can mail them to the mentioned office address before the deadline. A confirmation email is sent when an online submission is made. USEFP does not take any responsibility in ensuring when they receive the recommendation letters.
For the year 2020-2021, due to the pandemic, USEFP exempted students from taking the GRE test. Minimum CGPAs were considered for selection purposes as stated on their website.
Note: Students who provide false information or plagiarize information in their application are disqualified immediately.
The application deadline is usually set for May but can extend to July. The deadline for the Fulbright scholarship 2020 session was 22 July 2020.
COVID-19 Update – There is a temporary pause on allowing students to enter the USA right now. However, the applications for the Fulbright program will go on as planned. The announcement for the next Fulbright program will be made in February 2021.
Note: Pakistani women, people with disabilities, and individuals from FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, Northern Sindh, and Southern Punjab should not miss the opportunity of applying to this scholarship program.
About the Fulbright Scholarship program

USEFP announced in July 2020 that Pakistani students will not be required to give GRE for the Fulbright 2020 program. Generally, a minimum score of 138 in the verbal and 136 in the quantitative section are needed.
